I feel that financial illiteracy is one of the main reason for poverty. The need for financial literacy is very important and urgent in developing countries like India. India is more aligned towards capitalistic policies for last two decades. The climate is very competitive and only the fittest seems to be survived. So financial illiteracy brings a big risk and gap between the "haves" and "have nots". I was thinking about this for long time and worked out some steps for voluntary action. On macro level, it would support inclusive capitalism (mix of capitalism and socialism) and at ground level, it would provide tools for the kids to survive in capitalistic economy.
I understand that NSE (National Stock Exchange) in collaboration with Tamil Nadu State Government is on the process of introducing supportive education to improve financial literacy for VIII and XI class students. These scale of these initiatives should ramp up.
Let everyone of us understand this need and do our little best for this, to fight against poverty.

Firewood based stove
Traditionally people use firewoods as fuel. Wood fuel is largely used for cooking and heating. Residents have migrated to LPG stoves for various reasons. These are quick, smoke-less, easily adjustable and maintenance free way of cooking. Still many villagers / hotels are used to firewoods based cooking bcos of cost reasons. There is a small company at Madurai has come up with a firewood based stove that works like LPG stove without smoke. It is possible to adjust the flame etc. I feel this product would get good market in many regions where cost of petroleum products are getting higher.
